Home Inventory Costs

The costs for home inventory services vary, but the industry standard is usually between $100 - $300 per 1000 square feet. That's not including how much property you have to be inventoried, service charges, misc. expenses. etc.

Most companies keep these costs minimal so they shouldn't exceed $200 at the most.

Say you have a 2000 sq. ft. home. The initial cost would be $200 + time+ materials (portfolio + DVD), so you are roughly looking at:
$200 -
$50
$35
$5

$290

This model is just an estimate and varies by company, but you can see that a home inventory is not that expensive compared to the benefit of knowing that your property is documented the way the insurance company wants. Always keep in mind that the insurance company wants to save as much money as they can, and that means paying the minimal amount on claims!
This is why everyone needs a professional home inventory! You never know when disaster can strike and you want the maximum return for your property. This is a small price to pay when you could lose thousands of dollars!
